According to the Gallatin Police Department, the accident occurred at about 10:20 a.m. on Feb. 26, at the intersection of Hwy. 13 and W. Brandom Street south of Gallatin.
Michael S. Clark of Agency was driving a 1989 Freightliner south on Hwy. 13. Randall Chadwick of Jameson was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 with four passengers south on Hwy. 13. He was pulling an empty hay trailer. The pickup was owned by Kurt Esbeck of Gallatin.
Mr. Chadwick’s pickup stopped to make a wide right turn into a field. The semi moved into the northbound lane in an attempt to pass the pickup and struck the hay trailer. The semi went off the road and came to rest in the left side ditch, spilling some of its load of animal manure.
