For the past several years Green Hills and KCP&L have been partners in a weatherization program. Previous grants from KCP&L have been applied with excellent results to assist area residents. KCP&L also provides weatherization grants to eight other agencies across Kansas and Missouri.

"KCP&L continuously strives to better the total living environment in communities we serve. We believe one way of doing this is to promote energy efficiency through our weatherization program. Our continued partnership with Green Hills allows us to help our customers manage their electricity usage," said Roland Maliwat, sustainability projects manager for KCP&L.

The Green Hills Community Action Agency’s weatherization program serves more than 100 families per year. As part of the weatherization program, typical services include the installation of insulation, caulking windows and repairing heating and central cooling systems. On average, weatherization of a home reduces energy bills by 31%.

Customers can find more information about weatherization on the Programs and Services page of www.kcplsave.com/residential. To see if you qualify for the Weatherization Program, contact your local Green Hills Community Action Agency office.
