It was decided during old business to take the donated quilts to Children’s Mercy Hospital at a later date, weather permitting.
Programs for the new year were discussed during new business. Having a quilt show this year and making a quilt to raffle were tabled.
President Johnson reported dates when several quilt shops will have shop hops and discount sales. Iowa has over 2,000 guilt designs painted on barns and over 250 painted on barns in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Creative Quilt Guild of Ellis County, Texas, invited our guild to send an eight inch unfinished block with our club name and address to be made into a quilt for display at their 2010 quilt show. Cindi Johnson volunteered to make a block from our guild.
Doris Dickerson, Mary Lou Cassity, Ethel Booth, Sue Ellis and Carolyn Urton had quilts for show and share and Cindi Johnson showed how to make kaleidoscope material using computer software.
Next meeting is on March 2 at the KCP&L building.
