Joshua Irvin, 23, Kahoka, received serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident on I-35 at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mr. Irvin was northbound on I-35. He went off of the roadway about five miles northwest of Winston. His 2000 Ford went down an embankment where it overturned, ejecting the driver.

Mr. Irvin was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Liberty Hospital. He was not wearing his seat belt.

The vehicle was extensively damaged.

The accident was investigated by Cpl. L.M. Newman, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and KAW Fire Department.

A father and daughter were injured in an accident that happened at about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, in Daviess County.

According to the highway patrol, the accident occurred as Kevin Laytham, 44, Bethany, was northbound on Hwy. 13. About 1.5 miles north of Coffey, he lost control on the snow-covered roadway. The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee went off the east side of the roadway, struck a ditch, returned to the roadway and came to rest facing north.

Mr. Laytham received moderate injuries. His daughter, Katherine Laytham, 18, Bethany, received minor injuries. They were both wearing their seat belts. Both were taken by NTA Ambulance service to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.

The jeep was extensively damaged.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. B.E. Maudlin, assisted by Tpr. B.R. Hilliard.

Rebecca Anderson, 32, and her son, James Anderson, 13, both of Princeton, received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy 6 about two miles east of Altamont.

The accident occurred at 10:48 a.m. on Feb. 9 as Mrs. Anderson was westbound and lost control on the ice-covered road. She ran the 2003 Toyota off the left side of the road and down an embankment. The vehicle overturned onto its side.

Mrs. Anderson and James were taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

They were both wearing their seat belts. The vehicle was totaled.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. M.A. Ott, assisted by Cpl. A.A. Henry, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and KAW First Responders.
