Dell Loughead, 82, Unionville, died at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, on Jan. 19. She had been a patient there for a brief time.
Idella Francis (Connell) Loughead was born March 18, 1927, in Jamesport, the oldest of three children, to James D. and Kathryn (Burge) Connell, who preceded her in death.
After graduation from Trenton High School in 1945 she attended college for one year.
On Aug. 18, 1946, she married Ed Loughead in Trenton. He survives in Unionville.
Dell and Ed moved to Unionville, in 1967, where they owned and operated the Ben Franklin store for 20 years. Prior to that they had lived in Dale, Ind., and other locations in the Midwest. Dell was a homemaker, as well as a helpmate to Ed at the Ben Franklin store.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Connell, a sister-in-law, Gloria Connell, and a nephew, Patrick Connell.
Other survivors include three sons, Martin Edward Loughead of Osage Beach, Wesley Jay Loughead of Unionville, and Thomas Kenton Loughead, Unionville; one brother, J. R. Connell, Columbia; and six grandchildren.
