The Missouri Corn Growers Association and the Missouri Soybean Association will jointly hold a special information meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 25, with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. and program starting at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Ramada Inn in St. Joseph, and all soybean and corn growers are invited to attend.

The meeting will start with Congressman’s Sam Graves aid, Tom Brown, providing local growers an update of what is happening in Washington and implications for local growers.

Next, Dr. Tamera Jackson, University of Nebraska Plant Pathologist, will discuss "Corn and Soybean Fungicide and Seed Treatments." There are many growers’ questions about the use of these products. She will share her research and her colleagues.

Clay Mitchell, Iowa grower, will be talking about "Using Precision Technologies on his Farm." He has a lot of experience using technology and applying it to his own operation to increase crop yields and efficiency. He is a well know speaker throughout the Midwest.

Later in the program, Bryce Anderson, DTN, will provide a weather outlook for the coming season. His talk is "Weather Outlook for North and South America."

Marketing is up and down. Virgil Robertson with Pioneer will provide a "Market Outlook" for those who have grain stored and are looking ahead to coming season and 2011.

Both associations will provide an update to their members regarding activities and news and will answer grower’s questions. The meeting will conclude by 2:30 p.m.
