Discussion was held on the water distribution system during the regular meeting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen held Dec. 29, at city hall. Items that were discussed included the number of hydrants needing to be replaced, a waterline extension along the south end of town, and an additional connection to Daviess PWSD #2.

Teddy Holcomb gave updates on the water plant and the electric plant. He also stated snow removal went well and added that the International dump truck needs a new set of tires.
Police Chief Mark Richards is working on a letter to the paper discussing city snow routes.
Bills in the amount of $49,490.18 were approved for payment.
A resolution was passed amending the fiscal year 2009 budget to reflect actual expenditures.
An ordinance adopting an annual budget beginning on Jan. 1, 2010, appropriating funds pursuant thereto, and setting salaries of city employees received a first and second reading.
An ordinance amending the city code adjusting the water and sewer rates for Gallatin received a first and second reading.
Mr. Johnson had meeting with Doug Schulte regarding the city’s USDA application. Mr. Johnson has also met with Phil Walsack of MPUA regarding increasing wastewater regulations.
