Funeral services for Dennis Baker will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be at Winston Cemetery, Winston. The family suggests memorial contributions to the funeral home to be used by the family for funeral expenses.
Dennis Lee Baker, 61, Altamont, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at a local hospital.
Mr. Baker was born Nov. 26, 1948, to Theron and Anna Louise (Moreau) Baker in Jefferson City. He graduated from North Kansas City High School.
Mr. Baker was a welder for Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 37 years.
He married Shirley Evans, Nov. 17, 2006 in Gallatin. She survives of the home.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Moreau) Baker; and brother, Curtis Allen Baker.
Other survivors include one son, Daniel Baker of St. Joseph; one daughter, Michele Johnson of Kansas City; step-daughter, Jaimie Bonze of Cameron; step-son, Bobby Deluca of Independence; father, Theron Baker of Smithville; two sisters, Marian Baker and Rita Baker, both of St. Augustine, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
