The financial statement was presented and bills paid.

School board election candidate sign-up dates began Dec. 15 and will continue though Jan. 19, 2010, at 5 p.m.

The program evaluation plan was approved as presented. By a vote of 5 yes, 1 no.

A motion carried to continue to let Pattonsburg students participate in the summer school program for the summer of 2010. There were 10 students attending during summer 2009.

Mrs. Morris presented the administrative report for Mrs. Cornett. Three students from the elementary were recognized for their MAP scores, Blythe Hunter, Ridge Heiber and Mikah Heckenbach. They received either Advanced or Proficient on the Communication Arts and Math MAP testing. The students accepted a certificate of accomplishments and told the school board about their trip to Powerplay they took on Nov. 23.

Candace Chumley was the student of the month for November for demonstrating the character trait self control. The Christmas program was a success. The second quarter awards assembly will be at 1 p.m. on Jan. 8.

Mrs. Morris presented Mrs. Weldon’s report. Jeanette Loftin won the local Poetry Out Loud Contest. Jeanette will participate in the regional contest on Feb. 16 at St. Joseph. Winter dance was held Dec. 19.

The board entered into executive session for employee matters and for student matters.

Next board meeting is at 7 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the elementary school lunch room in Coffey.

The North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held a regular meeting on Dec. 15, in Jameson. Board members present were Cecil McCrary, Debbie Ray, David Iddings, Lee Courter, Jason Lewis and Axel Olson. Board members absent was Jeremy Hunter. Also present were superintendent Becky Morris and Board Secretary Jeremy Hunter, Beverly Hunter, Blythe Hunter, Ridge Heiber, Theresa Heiber, Beverly Ward, Linda Landes, Sue Olson and Cheryl Cornett.
