Funeral services for Carol Poe were held Dec. 21, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport. Burial was at the Masonic Cemetery in Jamesport. Memorial contributions may be made to the Daviess County Senior Citizens Center, Meals on Wheels, in care of the funeral home.

Carol Lee Poe, 77, Jamesport, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at the Morningside Center in Chillicothe.
Ms. Poe was born Dec. 29, 1931, to Forest L. and Lelia (Wells) Poe in rural Daviess county. She graduated from Jamesport High School in 1949 and attended Trenton Junior College, where she received her teaching certificate.
After college, Ms. Poe began her teaching career at a country school north of Jamesport and later at Gallatin. She moved to Kansas City where she was employed at TWA working in communications later transferring to the retirement division. She retired from TWA in 1993 after over 35 years of service.
Ms. Poe returned to Jamesport in 1993 to care for her elderly mother and to be closer to her family.
While living in the city, Ms. Poe attended the Presbyterian Church.
Ms. Poe was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her cousins, Ruth Harrington of Jamesport, Cheryl Mitchell of Gilman City, Stephen Peery of Brimson, and other family members out of the area.
