Vickie L. (Woody) Burns, 51, Blue Springs, Mo., formerly of Gallatin, Bethany and Lee’s Summit, passed away on Nov. 13, 2009, in Kansas City, Mo., at the KC Hospice House.
Vickie was born on Sept. 29, 1958, in Cameron, to Glen Roy "Burr" and Hazel McNeel Woody. She graduated from the Gallatin High School in 1976 and received her A.A. degree in legal assistance from CMSU-Warrensburg in 1978.
She worked as a legal secretary, provided daycare in her home for 10 years, and recently worked as an administrative assistant at the Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City for the past nine years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Gallatin.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; her in-laws; and a nephew, Jared McLey.
On May 28, 1978, she married Mark Burns in Gallatin. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her children, Adam and Lindsey Burns, of the home; mother, Hazel Woody, Gallatin; sisters, Belinda Woody, Gallatin, and Deena Ogle, Chillicothe; brothers, Roger Woody, Kingstowne, Va., and Randy Woody, Tipton; brothers-in-law, Jerry Burns, Lake Viking, Gallatin, Larry Burns, Blue Springs, Wendell Burns, Gallatin; and sisters-in-law, Linda Critten, Gallatin, and Mary Ann Wheeler, Trenton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Vickie Burns were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, at the First Christian Church, Gallatin, Mo. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton. Interment was at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Lindsey Burns Education Fund or KS Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo., in care of the First Christian Church, 1501 S. Main St., Gallatin, MO 64640.
