Funeral services for Maria Hostetler were held Friday, Nov. 13, at the Jamesport United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport.

Burial was in Beaver, Utah. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maria Hostetler Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Maria Hostetler, 40, Jamesport, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 as a result of a car accident.

Mrs. Hostetler was born on Aug. 22, 1969, to Anastacio and Margarita (Hernandez) Ramirez in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua. As a young child, she and her family moved to Beaver, Utah, where she attended school. She soon started a family and worked as a waitress at various restaurants. For a short period of time, she moved to California where she continued to work in the restaurant industry.

Upon returning to Beaver, she met Joe Hostetler. The couple moved to Jamesport in 1998, later marrying on June 14, 2001 in Beaver. Once married, the couple made their home in Jamesport where they raised their family and became involved in the community. Maria continued working at restaurants, cooking and waitressing. She was well known in the Amish community where she provided transportation for them the past five years.

She was a member of the Jamesport United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hostetler was preceded in death by: an infant sister, Eleazar Ramirez; maternal grandfather: Benito Hernandez; and paternal grandparents: Angel and Maria Ramirez.

Survivors include her husband, Joe of the home; children: Andrew Ramirez and Margarita Siddoway both of Beaver, Utah, RaCail Ramirez, Leeza Siddoway, David Hostetler, all of Jamesport, Rachel Barnet, Neil and Roxanne Hostetler, all of Maryville; parents: Anastacio and Margarita Ramirez, of Beaver, Utah; siblings: Jose Ramirez, Sandra Tellez, Miguel Ramirez, and Alvaro Ramirez, all of Beaver, Utah, Guadalupe Dunks of Jamesport; maternal grandmother, Victoria Martinez of Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua; and five step-grandchildren.
