Memorial services for Donald M. Cox were held Nov. 7 at Connect Ministries in Independence. Mr. Cox was cremated and inurnment was at the East Slope Cemetery in Riverside.

Don Cox, 74, Independence, died on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009. Contributions may be made to the Children’s Transportation Fund for the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and mailed to the Ararat Temple, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, Mo., 64129.
Mr. Cox was born on Aug. 17, 1935, in Gallatin.
He was a member of the Alpha Blue Lodge, Scottish Rites, Ararat Shrine, and East Gate Eastern Star #367.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Dale, Jack, Lewis and Raymond Cox, and a sister, Jody Harris.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Frances; two sons, John Cox, Gardner, Kan., and Leland Cox, Polo; and one daughter, Donna Humphreys, Independence; one brother, Henry Cox of Gallatin; and four grandchildren.
