On Oct. 29, the Chi-Rho Youth Group, sponsored by the First Christian Church of Gallatin, hosted a free potato and dessert bar and canned food drive at the Gallatin High School.
Chi-Rho members, assisted by parent volunteers, church members and Pastor Russ Hamilton, served over 135 junior high and high school fall athletes, FCA members, band members, coaches, high school faculty and administration. Chi-Rho planned the community service project as a way of saying "thank you" to the students and faculty for the extra work and support they provide the community and school as youth leaders in their respective organizations. First Christian Church and the youth group plan another food event after the first of the year for all the other extra-curricular organizations and winter sports in the Gallatin school. Through the outreach program the church and Chi-Rho hopes to provide another hand of encouragement to all students who are giving their support to make the school and community strong. Chi-Rho is a youth organization for students in fourth through eighth grades. Chi-Rho appreciates everyone for making this event a success.
