Pattonsburg hosts HDC Band Day

This year’s HDC Band Day was hosted by Pattonsburg School on Oct. 16. The other schools that attended were: Gilman City, Grundy, Newtown Harris, North Daviess, North Harrison, North Mercer, and Winston.

The bands performed three songs during the concert: The Gladiator, Free Spirit Overture, and Ash Lawn Echoes. The choir sang five selections of songs. The guest conductors were Ann Goodwin Clark and Terri Henry.

Around 130 students participated in band day. Those students from Pattonsburg that were selected to the HDC band were: Laura Zimmerman, Brooklyn Scobee, Jaimie Taylor, Heather Booth, Molly Thatcher, Ashley Cameron, Kristin Booth, Megan Crone, Carly Cornett, Samantha Parman, Liam Mooney, Geoffrey Hartley, Justin Conover, Dillon Lowrey, Kurt Bowman, Abby Scobee, Haley Slessman, Scott Conover, Rachel Hopkins, Ethan Teel, Aaron Hulet, Jared Teel, Michael Lewis, and Brett Worthey.

National Honor Society Induction

On Oct. 5 the N.H.S. chapter at Pattonsburg inducted new members and officers into the chapter. The new members are: Heather Coffey, Justin Conover, Scott Conover, Bradyn Gardner, and Dillon Lowrey.

The new officers for the N.H.S. are: President: Rachel Hopkins; Vice President: Haley Slessman; Secretary: Lindsey Lambert; Treasurer: Laura Zimmerman; and Reporter: Holly Morris. The officers conducted an induction ceremony and afterwards they had cake and punch.

Two FFA teams compete at Fall contest

On Oct. 14, two teams competed at the FFA Fall Contest at Northwest Missouri State University. The teams were the Farm Business Management team and the Advanced FFA Knowledge team.

The Farm Business Management team consisted of: Justin Conover, Scott Conover, Sarah Emerson, Lindsey Lambert, and Dillon Lowrey; and the Advanced FFA Knowledge team was Caitlin Crone, Emily Dilley, and Courtney Warford.

The Farm Business team was awarded third place and Justin Conover was the third top individual. The advanced Knowledge team got 5th place at the contest.
