Funeral services for Issac Brandon Jackson were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 4,) at the Lathrop High School Gymnasium. Interment was at Lathrop Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service, Lathrop.

Sergeant Issac Brandon Jackson, 27, Lathrop, formerly of Plattsburg, died on Oct. 27, 2009.
He was serving in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in the Striker 5th Brigade out of Fort Lewis, Wash., with the 1-17th Infantry Battalion since June 2009. This was his second tour of duty. He served his first tour with the 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division 1-32nd Infantry Battalion out of Fort Drum, N.Y. from March 2006 to June 2007.
Mr. Jackson was born in St. Joseph on April 2, 1982, to Christal (Stamper) Thomas-Kariker and John Jackson. He graduated from Lathrop High School in 2001. He joined the United States Army in May 2004, completing his basic training and AIT in Fort Benning, Ga.
Mr. Jackson met his future wife, Kristen Northrup, while attending Lathrop First Baptist Church in April 2004. They were engaged in October 2004 then were married on December 18, 2004. Their son, Enoch Immanuel Jackson, was born April 10, 2008, in Fort Lewis, Wash. They are expecting their daughter, Eden Marie Jackson, in December of 2009.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his father, John Esker Jackson; brother, Carl Jackson; sister, Johnetta Jackson; paternal grandmother, Alma Jackson; maternal grandmother, Georgia Holman; step grandfather, Leslie Holman; maternal grandfather, Ralph Stamper; uncle, Isaac Cousins.
Survivors include his wife, Kristen; his son, Enoch; his daughter, Eden; his mother, Christal Thomas-Kariker; step father, Edward Kariker, all of the home; one brother, Larry Jackson, Jamesport; brother, Jeremy Jackson of Smithville; step brother, Timothy Kariker; half siblings: Cassius C. Jackson, St. Joseph; Polly Jackson, Molly Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Johnny Jackson, all of Oklahoma, and Rochelle Jackson of Iowa.
