GHCAA has weatherized over 4,800 homes in the nine-county area.
All potential clients must fill out an application available at one of the nine GHCAA Service Centers.
Applications are processed using a point-based system, points are awarded for handicapped, elderly, low-income, amount of months waiting, type and amount of fuel used, and size of the family. The application with the most points gets served first.
The Department of Energy estimates a 14% average annual savings when a home is properly weatherized.
