Memorial services for Shirley Steel were held Oct. 25, at the First Christian Church, Cameron. Arrangements are by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Inurnment followed the service at Graceland Cemetery, Cameron. Memorials may be made to the Steele Family Scholarship Fund.
Shirley Kay (Clark) Steele, 69, Sun Lakes, formerly of Cameron, died on Oct. 17, 2009.
Mrs. Steele was born on July 24, 1940, in Jameson, one of five children to I.J. and Ermina M. (Herald) Clark.
Mrs. Steele was a 1958 graduate of Winston High School.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Cameron, and the United Methodist Church, Sun Lakes, Ariz.
On Sept. 9, 1983, she purchased Ada’s Fashion Center in Cameron. In 1987, she renamed the clothing store to Parkside Fashions.
On June 10, 1961, she married James Keith Steele. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2001.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Jimmy Clark.
Survivors include one son, Jim Steele, Columbia; one daughter, Kelly Kellerstrass, Cameron; two brothers, Gerald Clark, Osborn, and twin brother, Ted Clark, Arizona City, Ariz.; one sister, Sharon Edwards, Florence, Ariz.; companion, Roger Allen, Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
