A Jamesport man received moderate injuries in an accident involving a car and a horse drawn buggy that happened at about 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, in Daviess county.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Roger Schrock, 39, was driving a horse drawn cart pulling two farm implements northbound on Route 190. Also traveling northbound was Marty Goerne, 25, of Jamesport, in a 1998 Chevy. About three miles south of Jamesport Mr. Goerne struck the buggy from behind, ejecting both the buggy’s occupants.

After impact, the Chevy came to rest facing north, blocking the southbound lane of Route 190. The buggy came to rest blocking the northbound lane of Route 190.

Mr. Schrock was taken by Daviess county EMS to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. It is unknown if he was wearing a safety device.

The accident was investigated by Cpl. L. Newman, assisted by Sgt. M.A. Ott and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
