Gallatin softball girls raised their record to 3-4 in the Grand River Conference by beating up on a pair of league opponents during recent diamond action.

The Lady Bulldogs blanked Polo, 12-0, in five innings Tuesday for their third consecutive win, all against GRC foes. Carly Boyd pitched a solid game for Gallatin with five strikeouts and no walks.

Leading the hit parade for the Lady Bulldogs was catcher Marissa McNeely, who finished one hit short of the cycle. She singled, doubled, tripled, scored three times and drove in a pair of runs. Shelby Chadwick went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two driven in.

Ashley Owens doubled twice for Gallatin, scored twice and plated two runs. Savannah Butcher went 2-for-4 with two runs and an rbi. Kylie Cameron also doubled twice, scored a run and drove in a run.

Celsie Baker had one hit that drove in a run for the Lady Bulldogs.

Last Thursday’s trip to Albany produced a similar result for the Lady Bulldogs, who easily handled the Lady Warriors, 10-2.

Owens and McNeely each had three hits. Owens scored twice and drove in a pair while McNeely drove in three.

Butcher doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run. Chadwick belted a home run that brought home three Gallatin tallies. Boyd and Megan Beck each doubled. Boyd scored three times and Beck came home twice.

Monday’s game with Lawson was rained out. Gallatin will host Hamilton on Thursday. The Lady Hornets, unbeaten in GRC play, are coming off a big win over Chillicothe in the championship game of the Chillicothe Tournament held over the weekend.
