Letter to the Editor – Glenn I. Stelzer

In the 2-September issue, Joe’s Post Scripts relates to the close of WW II and he being on the Battleship USS Missouri at the signing of the Surrender Document.

Also, on board the USS Missouri was my lifelong friend-the late Donald Lee Snyder-a member of the Ships Band. Don was a 1944 Gallatin High School graduate. After graduation, Don joined the US Navy and was assigned to the Naval Music School in Washington D.C. A classmate of his, at the music school, was the actor, singer, and dancer Gene Kelly.

Joe is, indeed, a fine journalist, patriot, and gentleman. I look forward to his reminiscing each week.
