Letter to the Editor – Chief Mark Richards

Over the last couple of months, Police agencies across Northwest Missouri, including the Gallatin Police Department, have been preparing for the 2009 Tour of Missouri. On Sept. 12, the Tour of Missouri route traveled from Chillicothe to St. Joseph coming directly through downtown Gallatin.

In preparing for this event, the Gallatin Police Department relied on volunteers to assist with traffic and crowd control. We had a great group of volunteers without whom the event would not have been such a success for Gallatin.

I would like to express my appreciation to all the volunteers who signed up and assisted in the Tour of Missouri: Andrew Hood, Ben Hacking, Zac Johnson, Paul Caven, Denise Caven, Damon Hennon, Cindy Boles, Alex Richards, C.J. Richards, Cassie Richards, Veva Whiteaker, Cherri Wayne, Trudy Burton, John Gibson, Janece Gibson, Daniel Horvatin, Chris Lucas, Wendell Gunzenbauser, Norma Griffin, Donna Cline, Nancy Tate, Chad Youngs, Ron Wilson, Jake Cook, Robert Holcomb, Levi Rainey, and Teddy Holcomb.
I also appreciate everyone who came out to watch the racers and show that Gallatin was proud to have such an event come through our town.
