A Jameson youth received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at about 7:55 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, in Daviess County.

According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Matthew Rouner, 18, was an occupant in a vehicle driven by Bryant Elder, 19, Gilman City. Bryant was southbound on Route K, about four miles south of Gilman City, when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the east side of the roadway, striking a tree.

Matthew, who was not wearing his seat belt, was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital by private vehicle.

The 1998 Mercury Sable received extensive damage.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. B.D. Maudlin, assisted by Sgt. M.A. Ott, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Laieloni Knouse, 42, Chillicothe, received serious injuries in a motorcycle accident at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 on Rt. U., five miles southeast of Jamesport.

According to the highway patrol, Ms. Knouse was driving a 1998 Harley Davidson southbound on Rt. U in Livingston County when she failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned one time, and came to rest partially on top of the driver in a shallow creek ditch.

Ms. Knouse was taken by Life Flight Eagle helicopter to St. Lukes in Kansas City. She was wearing a safety device.

The Harley was moderately damaged.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. D. Little, assisted by Tpr. Lynch, the Jamesport First Responders, Jamesport Fire/Ambulance, and the Grundy County Fire/Ambulance.
