Funeral services for Alice Stallsworth were held Aug. 29, at the First Baptist Church, Cainsville. Burial was in Zoar Cemetery of Cainsville. The family requests donations to the Alice Stallsworth Memorial Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.

Alice Marie Stallsworth, 59, Cainsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009.

She was born Aug. 20, 1950, in Bethany, the daughter of Forrest Edward and Mabel Edith (Houk) McKinney.

On Nov. 6, 1969, she married Jerry Lee Stallsworth in Coffey. He survives at the home. To this union, two girls were born, Wendy Lee (Stallsworth) Morales and Amy Ranee Stallsworth.

She graduated from Coffey High School in 1968.

She worked as a waitress and factory worker until her marriage. Then she helped her husband shear sheep all over Harrison and Mercer counties and a lot of times into Iowa, and picking up hay for hire as well as their own. She also helped him run trap lines and skin furs. When her husband’s health declined she went back to being a cook at the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Eagleville for 19 years before finding out she had cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brother-in-laws; two nephews; one half-brother; one half-sister; and her father-in-law.

Other survivors include daughters, Wendy Morales and Amy Stallsworth; three sisters, Clara King, Anna Booher and Margaret Kaneer; one grandchild; and one step-grandson.
