Graveside services for Larry Hester were held Aug. 22 at Clear Creek Cemetery, near Jamesport. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Larry Hester Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Larry Hester, 70, died on Aug. 20, 2009, at his home near Gallatin.
Mr. Hester was born Sept. 16, 1938, to Clyde and Frances (Jones) Hester in Gallatin. He lived in the Gallatin area for most of his life, where he graduated from the Gallatin High School in 1956.
After graduation he enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served for seven years.
Mr. Hester was employed at Ferrell Gas Company in Gallatin where he worked for many years.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn Nibarger on Aug. 16, 1987, in Gallatin. The couple made their home in Gallatin where both were employed by the Gallatin Ambulance District as EMTs.
Mr. Hester was a voluntary fireman for the Gallatin fire district.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Frank Ayers; sister, Delores Eaton; stepbrother, Bill Ayers; and stepsister, Joan Bobier.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Carolyn of the home; children, Sherri Vance of Gallatin, Jeff Hester of Blue Springs, Carmen Hoden of Mondamin, Iowa, Robin Pawson of San Diego, Calif., Richard Powell of Memphis, Mo., and Tina Powell of Gallatin; step sister, Gloria Spears of Hamilton; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
