Funeral services for Helen Gastineau were held Aug. 22 at Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge. Helen Kathryn Gastineau, 79, a resident of St. Joseph, died at her residence on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009.
She was born March 9, 1930, in Lock Springs, the daughter of Louie William and Catherine Mae Cashatt.
On Aug. 31, 1946 she married Robert Gastineau. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Gastineau was employed at Bliss Manor, St. Joseph, in residential care as a cook for eight years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; two sons, Rick and Brian; and two brothers, Bobby Cashatt and Charles Cashatt.
Survivors include two daughters: Cheryl Utterback and Kim Rose, both of St. Joseph; three brothers: Randy Cashatt of Iowa, Louie Cashatt of Lathrop, and Clay Cashatt of Gower; two sisters: Connie Harris of Breckenridge, and Marilyn Zwygart of Cowgill; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
