Frances Beck, 85, of Grimes, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at her daughter’s home in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow services at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.

Frances was born and raised in and around Jameson, Missouri. She married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Beck in 1946. They lived in the Ankeny, Alleman and Grimes area for over fifty years. Fran had worked as a dining room manager for the Chicago Speakeasy in Des Moines prior to working for her daughter and son-in-law at the Corn Patch Restaurant in Grimes.
Frances enjoyed all kinds of music and visiting with new found friends wherever she went. Her passion in life was her family, whom she worked with and loved spending time with.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Lucy (Dennis) Schwieso of West Des Moines, her grandchildren, Ken (fiancé, Brandy) Schwieso of Adel and Kimberly (Cliff) Lovell of Grimes; her great grandchildren, Zack and Shelby Schwieso, Natalie Mack, and Denni, Miranda and Rosalyn Lovell; and her siblings, Dean Thompson of St. Joseph, MO, Elizabeth Teel of Des Moines, Dorothy Fletchall of St. Joseph, MO, and Junior Thompson of Leavenworth, KS.
