Dispatcher Parker, Justin O’Brien and Kira O’Brien discussed multiple issues concerning Parker’s attorney, medical releases and her return to full time status. The board stressed their concern for her health and safety, as well as the welfare and safety of the citizens.

After lengthy discussion, it was decided that Parker must obtain a medical release from her chief cardiologist, chief pulmonary therapist, chief physical therapist and chief neurologist before returning to work.

Micha Dixon, attorney for the board, will send a letter to Parker’s attorney with a copy of her job description to be sent to each of those caregivers, as well as stipulation that each caregiver’s release must contain the understanding they have read her job description, understand the type of work she performs, and are releasing her to once again perform those duties. A copy of the job description was also given to Parker.

Supervisor Dana Carder advised the board that she had received notice from Community Health that they will no longer be offering health insurance in this area after the current enrollment period. She had spoken with someone from Community Health who advised that Aetna will be available to take over the Community Health clients. Someone at Community Health will start the application process in October, 2009.

Mrs. Carder also presented the board with a proposal from Geo-Comm for consulting services concerning narrowband compliance. The issue was tabled for discussion at a later date.

The board entered into closed session pursuant to hiring, firing, promoting, discipline, litigation of an employee.
