She was born Sept. 7, 1919 in Coffey, Mo., the daughter of Willis and Lizzie (Epperson) Huff.
Ruby married Henry Carter in 1936, he preceded her in death in 1962. She married Ernest West in 1963 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1983.
Ruby was a homemaker and operated grocery store. She also worked at Crestview Nursing Home. Ruby was a member of the Coffey Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Sutton, Coffey, Mo.; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matt, Paul, Robert and Rochelle; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Verna Salmon, Maysville, Mo., and three nieces,.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, David Carter; grandson, Paul Carter and brother, Ernest Huff.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo. Burial was in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, Mo. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
