Dr. Leland Don Lambert, Hurlock, Md., 82, formerly of Pattonsburg, Mo., left this earth on July 19, 2009 surrounded by his loved ones. Dr. Lambert was born to Glennie Henry Lambert and J. Cleo Lambert on Sept. 5, 1926, in Pattonsburg, Mo.

Dr. Lambert graduated from high school in 1943. After graduation he worked in a military factory until he was old enough to enlist in the Army where he served for one year at the end of World War II in Germany.
He attended Iowa State University and then Michigan State where he received his masters and PhD in Agriculture economics. Dr. Lambert worked for the United States Department of Agriculture from 1964 until his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, who he married on July 8, 1961; his son Erick and daughter-in-law Barbara, daughter Jessica, and one brother Thomas Lambert and family of Pattonsburg, Mo.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Calvin Lambert.
Graveside services and burial with military rites will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, at Bethel Cemetery, Pattonsburg, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 Monday at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, Mo.
