Funeral services for Margaret Leeper were held Saturday at Christ Chapel Church in Polo. Interment was at Cowgill Cemetery, Cowgill. Arrangements were by Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service, Polo. The family suggests memorial gifts to Christ Chapel Church.
Margaret Louise (Pearse) Leeper, 84, Polo, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Liberty Hospital.
Born May 28, 1925, in Caldwell County, she lived most of her life in Polo.
On July 17, 1942, she married Roy K. Leeper, who survives of the home. They were married for nearly 67 years.
Mrs. Leeper taught two years in a rural school southwest of Polo. She taught Sunday School classes for over 50 years and served as secretary for the Christ Chapel Church. She was on the board for the Polo Senior Center, which she helped to establish. She was also a foster parent.
Mrs. Leeper was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Beulah (Fleming) Pearse; her two sisters, Inzella Kelly and Josephine Herring; and her brother, Leroy Pearse.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Bendure, Lawson, and Carol Willard, Troy; one son, David Leeper of rural Jamesport; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
