On June 22-29, Gallatin High School sent nine FBLA members to attend the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif. Anaheim is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, a place well-suited for over 7,800 future business leaders to Get the Edge.

Members that represented the local chapter were Wren Tolen, Phillip Arnold, Jamie Brinnen, Carly Boyd, and Taylor Sheldon in Parliamentary Procedures; Courtney Ray in Business Calculations; Cameron King in Personal Finance; Breanne Brammer in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures; and Kaddie Mott and Phillip Arnold received their America Award, the highest award given to any FBLA member. Jamie Brinnen also begins her term Missouri FBLA State Secretary. FBLA members were accompanied by local chapter adviser, Barb Holcomb and her family Jim and Jace.

Individuals, state teams, and local chapters were encouraged to compete in any of the nearly 60 different events representing a wide range of activities and the business and leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL. It is an extreme privilege to compete at the national conference among FBLA-PBL’s best and brightest of today’s youth.

While in California, students had the opportunity to see the sites of Orange County. Site seeing opportunities included Disneyland, Downtown Disney, California Adventure, Universal Studios, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Captain Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Safari, and parasailing.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest student business organization, held their National Leadership Conference at Anaheim Convention Center, June 25–28. Conference participants from around the country, were in attendance for this amazing conference and the FBLA-PBL Institute for Leaders.
