In the last few weeks the Northwest Vipers 9 and under baseball team has taken first place in the Hawaiian Hitfest and second place in the Cowtown Showdown. In the Hitfest the team went 4 and 1 to claim the title. Colin Beck pitched the championship game and Dalton Swalley had 2 triples on the day. In the Showdown they went 2 and 2 to take second at Mid America. Dillan Gray smacked the hit that sent in the winning run to put the Vipers in the championship. The 9 and under Vipers are currently ranked number 1 in State. They will see action again June 19-21 in the State tournament in Oak Grove. The players are Brady Atwell, Dalton Swalley, Chase Staples, Reece Bickford, Dillan Gray, Will Walker, Colin Beck, Cameron Staples, Jalen Sundell, Drake Kinsella, Cade Allee and Jackson "Bubba" Alvarez. Coaches are Shawn Staples, Bill Walker and Dean Swalley.
