Maria Bickford and Chrissy Blundell were among the few young people from this area chosen to attend "The New Beginnings Workshop" held this summer at the Catskills in upstate New York.
Peter Sklar, world renowned director of both film and stage, interviewed and chose the youth to attend the workshop.
Chrissy and Maria will be participating in the August week-long workshop where they will be learning the newest techniques in acting, voice and dance. Their instructors are promised to be the best in the field. On the closing evening, they will make their solo performance on an off-Broadway stage.
Chrissy and Maria will be seventh grade students at Gallatin this fall. They both are very active in various school and community activities. They are students at the Stage Crew Performing Arts studio under the direction of Lindi Denning. They are on the competition dance team and have won several awards and trophies.
A benefit silent auction and garage sale to support Maria and Chrissy will be held at the lower level of the Daviess County Library on June 12-13.
