James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reporting that they will make repairs to a bridge in Union Township on Major Avenue this week.

Jim Baker, Sheridan Township, met with the Commission regarding culverts and brush near his farm.

Bills were audited and paid.

The Commission received a safety award of $1,357 and a no claims award of $2,261 from the workman’s comprehensive insurance fund.

Bob Burnett, Snyder and Associates, met with the Commission regarding BRO project 31 agreements with landowners.

The Commission inspected a culvert in Jamesport Township in the afternoon finding that repairs are needed.

Sheriff’s Office

Two concrete benches at the Jamesport Park were knocked over and damaged, as reported by Troy Souders, Park Board Administrator, on May 10.

Lisa Fisher, Odessa, was arrested May 9 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. She posted $750 bond.

Mandi Broyles, 28, Milan, was arrested May 9 for felony DWI, aggravated offender, and misdemeanor no valid license. Bond is set at $25,000.

Circuit Court

A jury trial is set for 9 a.m. Thursday for John C. First, on two counts of child abuse.

Judge Brent Elliott presided during Law Day on May 7. The following cases were heard:

Ryan P. Trombley plead guilty to amended charges of possession of controlled substance, class C felony, and property damage first degree, class D felony. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections on the first charge and three years on the second, sentences to run concurrently.

James A Waggoner admitted probation violations. The court revoked the suspended execution of sentence, and the previously imposed sentence of four years was ordered executed on the class D felony of operating motor vehicle without valid license.

John B. Birmingham admitted probation violations. The court revoked the suspended imposition of sentence, and he received four years in the Department of Corrections for the class C felony of passing bad checks.

After admitting probation violations, Shelah J. Breault was sentenced to five years for the class C felony of burglary and five years for the class C felony of forgery, sentences to run concurrently. Sentences were ordered executed.

Cindy Newton plead guilty to DWI, class B misdemeanor, and was sentenced to the custody of the Daviess County Sheriff for five months.

James Brendle admitted probation violations on an original charge of passing bad checks. Probation was continued with the following terms: fees and restitution to be paid within six months, defendant to be on electronic monitoring and not leave the state.

A warrant was issued for Jennifer Brown on a probation violation for an original charge of hindering prosecution of a felony, class D felony, with no bond.

State vs. Margaret A. Jones was assigned to Judge James Valbracht. The charges are two counts of forgery, class C felony.

State vs. Orville N. Zeikle was assigned to Judge James Valbracht. The charges are DWI, alcohol, aggravated offender, class C felony; resisting arrest, class D felony; and two infractions.

In State vs. Carlos Sarmiento, the case was transferred to the presiding circuit judge for reassignment. The charges are first degree murder and armed criminal action.

In State vs. Robin Bryson, the case was transferred to the presiding circuit judge for reassignment. The charges are possession of controlled substance and endangering welfare of a child.

Karen "Toni" Fordyce plead guilty to five counts of stealing by deceit, class C felony. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

John Toney Calhoon plead guilty to DWI, chronic offender, class B felony, and driving while revoked, class D felony. One charge was dismissed. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Fernando Bahena-Pineda plead guilty to driving without valid license, class D felony, and two counts were dismissed. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Rodolfo G. Hernandez plead guilty to operating motor vehicle without valid license, class D felony, and exceeding speed limit, class C misdemeanor. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Donald R. Ealey plead guilty to possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, class B felony. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Paul Nathan Hutchison plead guilty to stealing of an animal, class C felony, stealing, class C felony, burglary second degree, class C felony. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Arianne B. Rosenstangle plead guilty to operating vehicle on highway without valid license, third offense, class D felony, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, class A misdemeanor, and domestic assault third degree, class A misdemeanor. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Rodolfo G. Hernandez plead guilty to operating motor vehicle without valid license, class D felony, and speeding, class C misdemeanor. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Celinda A. Rogers entered an Alfred plea to two amended misdemeanor counts of stealing. The court granted a suspended imposition of sentence on each count with two years probation.

In John Wesley Woodring vs. Director of Revenue and Gabriel Punahele Jacobs vs. Director of Revenue, the court ordered driving privileges reinstated.

A dissolution of marriage was granted to Jessica M. Malott from Scotty G. Malott, with her maiden name of Nelson restored.

Before Judge Daren Adkins on May 11, Michael D. Little plead guilty to two counts of non-support, class D felonies. The court suspended imposition of sentence and placed defendant on probation for five years.

Associate Circuit Court

The felony charge of property damage against Jeremy Hunter, 30, Jameson, which was reported last week, was dismissed on May 4.

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, courts costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $68.50 for moving traffic violations and $116.50 in most criminal cases.

Nathan D. Wagler, Jamesport, driving while intoxicated, prior offender, 10 days jail (board bill paid by defendant).

Robin Ely, Bethany, probation violation on original charges of passing bad checks, probation revoked, 45 days jail on each count consecutively, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation.

Juan A. Tanco-Baez, Ottumwa, Iowa, no valid license, $150.

Angela Ruch, Jamesport, possession of marijuana, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 3 days shock jail on each count, consecutive.

Civil Court

Suit on account: Harvest Credit vs. Leona Bird was dismissed by the parties.

 Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $845 for 11 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $595 for 13 cases.
