Winston band students advance to state
Two Winston band students advanced to State Music Festival in Columbia on May 1, on the University of Missouri campus. Tabitha Piburn received a II rating while Chandler Newman received a III rating.
Winston Band students attend Conference Band
Seventeen students from Winston School Band attended HDC Conference Band on Feb. 23 at North Mercer School. Students rehearsed from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. and gave a performance at 7 p.m. This year’s event band director was Al Sergel, retired Director of Bands at NWMSU in Maryville. Six from Winston band participate at district festival
Six band students from Winston School attended District Music Festival at Central High School in St. Joseph on March 28. Those students and their ratings were as follows: Tabitha Piburn-I-clarinet, Kirsten Riggs-II-violin, Chandler Newman-I-clarinet, Emily McFee-III-flute, Briana Heldenbrand-II-flute, and Cody Youtsey-II-trumpet.
