1927 – 2009
Peggy Belshe, 82, passed away Thursday April 23, 2009 at her home near Gallatin. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 27 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation was held prior to the service. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles Belshe Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
Peggy was born Jan. 23, 1927 to Omie and Amy (Garrett) Page in Columbia, Mo. She was raised and attended school in the Columbia area. Peggy was united in marriage to Charles Belshe on April 16, 1948 in Columbia; he preceded her in death Feb. 19, 2000 after 51 years of marriage. The couple lived in the Marshall, Hamilton and Bethany areas before moving to Gallatin in 1960. In 1965 Charles and Peggy purchased a farm south of Gallatin where they made their home and raised their family.
Peggy enjoyed working with her flowers and always planted a large garden. She spent many hours canning vegetables. She was devoted to her family and taking care of their needs was always a priority. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Peggy was a member of the Gallatin First Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed fellowship with her friends. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and participated in Relay for Life. Peggy enjoyed serving the community with her time and talents whenever she was called upon.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bobby, JT and BC Page, and sister Kathryn Sneider.
Survivors include her sons Larry Belshe and wife Lana and Steve Belshe and wife Marsha, all of Gallatin; daughter Jackie Williams and husband Mike of Sinton, Texas; brother Herman Page of Columbia, Mo.; grandsons Michael Belshe of Hamilton, Eric Belshe of Cameron, Chris Belshe of Shawnee, Kan., and Mick Williams of Sinton, Texas; and six great grandchildren.
