The Tech Prep program offers students a way to save money and time in completing an Associate of Applied Science degree at NCMC by waiving college course tuition and fees. High school students are able to gain career training in areas such as accounting, agriculture, business administration, business technology, child development, and criminal justice if their high school has an agreement with NCMC. At Gallatin R-5, the articulation agreement includes courses in accounting, agriculture, business, and computer applications.
"Employment trends illustrate many of today’s careers require some sort of post-high school education and training," noted Dr. Neil Nuttall, President of NCMC. "This partnership between Gallatin and NCMC will provide an incentive for students to continue their education and will allow NCMC to be an affordable and local choice for area students." Gallatin High School students can work with their high school counselor to take career oriented classes and move directly and without duplication from high school into related studies at NCMC. Many of these courses also meet basic requirements for students who plan to transfer on to a four year school, saving valuable time, money, and effort toward a four year degree.
