Jessie May Lawrence, 92, Gilman City, died Monday, April 6, 2009 in Ames, Iowa. She was born Jan. 5, 1917, near Cainsville, Mo., the youngest of 10 children and daughter of Jesse Newton and Ada May (Rinehart) Loveless.
She married Everett Lawrence, Jr. on Oct. 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1979.
Jessie was a member of the Gilman Rebekah Lodge #803 for 61 years. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, cooking and quilting.
Jessie was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Leah, Ada and Mary; brothers, Floyd, Joe, Paul and two children in infancy.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Coffman, Ames, Iowa; grandsons, Lawrence Joe Coffman, Ames, Iowa and Michael (Ashley) Coffman, Albert Lea, Minn.; great-granddaughter, Aydrie Coffman; sister, Ruth E. Casebolt, Bethany, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Gilman City, Mo., with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial in the Masonic Cemetery of Gilman City under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home of Gilman City.
