Larry Holley, head men’s basketball coach at William Jewell College, has been awarded the Citation for Achievement from William Jewell College in Liberty. He is a 1967 graduate of the college.

Larry Holley is among America’s elite and legendary basketball coaches. He has won more than 750 games during his career and received 14 Coach of the Year Awards, including the prestigious Sears/NABC NAIA National Coach of the Year Award in 1996.
Serving as the head men’s basketball coach at his alma mater since 1979, he has been selected to four Halls of Fame: the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, the NAIA Hall of Fame, and the William Jewell College Athletic Hall of Fame.
He has guided 11 Jewell squads to Heart of America Athletic Conference Titles and 11 Cardinal teams to the NAIA National Tournament, with four of them reaching the Final Four and three reaching the Elite Eight.
Holley is the career leader in wins among HAAC basketball coaches. He ranks #1 all-time in career wins among four-year college coaches coaching only at Missouri colleges and universities.
