Funeral services for Georgia Cotter were held April 4 at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, St. Joseph, with interment in Bethel Cemetery, DeKalb. The family requests memorial contributions to Hyde Valley United Methodist Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.

Georgia "Betty" Cotter, 89, of St. Joseph, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Cotter was born in Halls, on Oct. 4, 1919, to Porter and Florida Crockett. She graduated from Benton High School in 1937.
Mrs. Cotter was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a current member of Hyde Valley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Quilters Group.
She married Everett Fay Cotter April 12, 1941, in Maryville. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1996.
Mrs. Cotter was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, James, Varley, Davy, Walter, Landon, Gayell, and Robert Crockett; and six sisters, Iva Bunten, Alpha Madden, Hazel Duty, Mildred Dyer, Helen Farris, and Ruth Jackson.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynda Faye Dean, Faucett; one sister, Marty Vance, St. Joseph; two grandchildren, including Cydney Terry, Gallatin; and six great-grandchildren.
