The Bulldog boys placed third behind Lawson and Plattsburg and girls finished ninth in Tuesday’s Lathrop Invitational track held at Kearney High School.

Tyler Brackett and Cody Selby each topped the field in field events. Brackett finished first in the long jump (19’10") and Selby won the pole vault (10′). Brackett also placed third in the 200-meter dash (23.60) and fourth in the 100-meter sprint (11.80).

On the girls side, Kelly Critten took second in the pole vault (7’6") and seventh in the triple jump (29’3.5"). Tory Wood finished fifth in the 800-meter run (2:48.12) and Kaley Esbeck placed eighth in the 1600-meter run (6:50.98). The 4×100-meter relay team finished second in 55.55. The 4×400-meter relay team took fourth in 4:40.11, and the 4×800-meter relay squad placed second in 11:12.57.
Gallatin track athletes dodged recent cold and wet weather long enough to compete in the Smithville Invitational last Friday at SHS. The Lady Bulldogs finished 10th overall in team standings. The GHS boys finished seventh out of 12 teams.
