A private family graveside service for Raymond Evans will be held on Friday, April 3. There is no formal, scheduled visitation, but friends may call at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, after noon on Wednesday, April 1. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caldwell County Foundation Cancer Assistance, or to Comfort Care Hospice, Cameron.
Retired Major Raymond Allan Evans, 68, Hamilton, died on March 29, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Evans was born on Dec. 12, 1940, in Gallatin to Allan G. and Helen M. Metz Evans. He had graduated from the Penney High School, Hamilton, in 1958. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s of arts degree.
Mr. Evans retired as the director of personnel in December of 1989 from the Missouri Air National Guard at Rosecrans field in St. Joseph. He began his career in the military in 1963 in the Missouri Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Evans was a life-time member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Rosecrans Officers Association, and the Hamilton American Legion Post No. 285.
On Sept. 2, 1961, he married Janet Henricks at the Kingston Christian Church, Kingston. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include sister-in-law, Sue Hawks, Gladstone; niece, Tammy Hawks, Gladstone, and several cousins.
