This resource fair is the first of its kind in the area to educate individuals and families about services available to them. The fair is free to all and many services are providing free testing, such as cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, glaucoma and blood oxygen levels, among many others.

Second Harvest of Greater St. Joseph will provide a light lunch and a 40-pound box of food for anyone in need of food assistance. There will be activities for the entire family, including a kid-friendly area while parents visit the fair.

"The Show-Me Resource Fair is a unique collective effort among the communities and social services in the four-county area to meet the needs of families they serve," said Scott Tomhave, executive director of Second Harvest. "It becomes a one-stop opportunity for those families rather than multiple referrals to several services.

Those participating agencies include: Access II, Active Aging Resource Center, American Red Cross, Northwest, Cameron Fire Department, Cameron Nutrition Center, Cameron Police Department, Cameron Public Library, Cameron Regional Medical Center, Catholic Charities, Community Action Partnership, Community Blood Bank, Community Network, Cooperative Extension, Daviess County Health Department, Division of Family Services, Experience to Work, Family Guidance, Farmers Electric Cooperative, Hillyard Technical School, LDS, MERIL, Missouri Career Center, Missouri Conservation Department, Missouri Gas and Energy, Missouri Veterans’ Commission, Missouri Western State University, North Central Missouri College, Northwest Area Agency of Aging, Northwest Health Services, OATS, Parents as Teachers, Rehab Services for the Blind, Region D—Solid Waste and Recycling, Regional Hospice of Gallatin, Second Harvest of Greater St. Joseph, Senate Bill 40, Society of St. Andrew, The Village Retirement Center, Tri-County Health Department, YMCA and YWCA.
