Throughout the winter, local members continue being busy with lookups for researchers outside of the area. The latest surnames researched include McAllister, McCarty, McCoy, Wright, Smith, Brown, and Castor, to name a few. A volunteer from out of state has begun transcribing marriages beginning with 1900, to publish in books for resale for the Society. If you would like to become involved in researching your family’s history or help in preservation of the county’s records and artifacts, come join us. Contact Lanita Sconce Smith in the evenings at 660-684-6174 or email [email protected], for more information.
