Funeral services for Ed Froman were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Interment was at the New Hope Cemetery in Liberty. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral Home.
Ed Froman, 89, died Friday, March 6, 2009, at Heartland Hospital.
Mr. Froman was born July 28, 1919, to Kent and Mary Louise (Clark) Froman in Liberty. He attended school there until moving with his family to Gower. He graduated from Gower High School.
Mr. Froman attended the College of Agriculture at the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he was in the honor club as well as Phi ETA Sigma, Blue Key and the Alpha Zeta. He was also president of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity.
From 1946 to 1953 he was an instructor and supervisor in a young adult farm-training program. From 1953 to 1970 he worked for Cargill, Inc. in the seed division as territory manager to the western half of Missouri. Since graduating from college he was in the livestock business, in partnership with his son Eddie and grandson Mark, both of Gallatin.
On August 15, 1945, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Williams at Taylorsville, Ken.
Mr. Froman was preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Mary Louise Froman, his wife Marjorie and his brother K.C.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Jr. of Gallatin; and two grandsons, Mark Froman of Gallatin and Patrick Froman of Kansas City.
