Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors invite county landowners to their first open house to be held Wednesday, March 11.
Donuts and coffee will be served from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the conference room at the USDA Building, 209 Ash Street, Gallatin.
The four wining posters from each of the five county schools will be on display during the day. The contest is open to third grade through sixth grade students. This year’s theme is "Dig It, The Secrets of Soil."
March 11 is the last day landowners may sign up for state cost-share. Natural Resource Conservation Service and SWCD staff will be available to answer conservation questions. Make plans to attend the SWCD open house Wednesday, March 11.
Grindstone-Lost-Muddy Creek Watershed Trustee election will be held March 23. All landowners within the boundary of the watershed are eligible to vote. The elected trustee will serve a six year term with four other trustees elected from the other counties in the watershed. Kenny Mason Jr., Pattonsburg, is a candidate for the trustee position.
