Want to take a parenting class but have not been able to because of child care issues?
The Daviess County Health Department is going to offer its parenting class in the afternoons so parents can attend while their children are in school.
The health department will offer "Parenting with Love and Logic" again starting March 2 through April 6. This class will be held 1 to 3 p.m. every Monday afternoon for six weeks at the Daviess County Health Department located at 609A S. Main St., Gallatin. Because of a grant through the Children’s Trust Fund, this class is being offered for free. The class is open to anyone, not just Daviess County residents.
Health department nurses will be using the "Parenting with Love and Logic" curriculum. This curriculum is made up of six modules and we will cover a module each afternoon. Classes are offered to parents, grandparents, childcare providers or anyone who wants a better understanding of children and how to handle discipline. This class has been well received by other participants and is very fun and informative.
Please call 660-663-2414 for class availability. Each class will be limited to 10 students. If you have any other questions, please direct them to Kristie Smith, RN, at the above number.
