During their regular meeting held Feb. 11, the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen discussed a request by Amir RazaNaqvi (110 Services) in regards to putting a 10-room motel on the back lot behind the gas station.

No one on the council could foresee any reason why he could not, since the lot is already in the commercial zone.

General cleanup day will be scheduled for either the first or second Monday in May. If anyone has a preference of which Monday, they need to contact city hall.

Water Superintendent Eddy Meador mentioned to the council that wells 5 and 6 will need a treatment this year. He also said that in the near future the filter media in the treatment plant needs to be replaced.

Bill were reviewed and paid.

Monthly reports were reviewed.

An ordinance on water rates was read for the first time and second time.

Economic Developer Richard Mooney told the council he was continuing to follow up on previous items.

The city has had an inquiry on a piece of land in the commercial area. More information will be received later in the month.

The Village of Winston has sent a letter wanting to know if the City of Pattonsburg would want to go in with the surrounding towns and villages to see if the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail would house a dog kennel. The board motion to join Winston in their pursuit.

Tim Smith turned in his bid on the front entrance. The board accepted his bid and the project will start in April.

Lonnie Luke asked if he could receive his pay early and the board carried a motion to approve his request.

The board carried a motion to have Tracy Parton’s name put on the signature cards so she will be authorized to sign checks.
