Funeral services for Robert Pugh will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. General visitation will begin after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. No scheduled family visitation is planned. Burial will follow military graveside rites in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton. Memorial contributions are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or the Galt Baptist Church. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O. Box 587, Trenton, Mo., 64683.
Robert I. Pugh, 76, Trenton, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Cameron Nursing and Rehab in Cameron.
Mr. Pugh was born on Sept. 2, 1932, at Jameson in Daviess County, the son of Elzy and Dorothy Jane Smith Pugh. He graduated from Jameson High School.
In 1953 he joined the Air Force and served in Korea. He received his college degree while in the Air Force.
After his discharge he moved to the Kansas City area where he was an over-the-road truck driver, then a city police officer. He also worked in construction building houses.
He moved to Gallatin before moving to Trenton to make his home.
On April 22, 1986, he was married to Phyllis Prewitt at Decater, Texas. They lived in Trenton all their married lives.
He was a member of the Jameson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis Pugh of Trenton; two daughters, Alice Todd of Milo, and Misty Yurisich of Bellview, Neb.; a step-daughter, Sharon Neff of Trenton; one brother, Marion Lee Pugh of Altamont; two sisters, Christina Powers of Trenton, and Frances Pugh of Albany; one half sister, Carolyn Clevenger; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
